e willow tree on the way home and were revered, so they were called the return willow Mikaeri Yanagi is on the left side of the entrance to the 50-way road through Emonsaka, a slope that descends from the Japanese embankment built as a bank on the Sumida River to Yoshiwara Yukoku. The reward willow is written in many Kawayanagi, and also appears in Ichiyo Higuchi's Takekurabe. The willow was replanted each time it withered, and was first described in the literature in 1758. The current one is the sixth generation replanted in 2013
