faced Kannon as the main temple. In 595, a dragon appeared on Mt. Nakiyama, a small hill on the Sumida River, and began protecting the land. It is said that this dragon was the origin of the mountain name of Sensoji Temple, Kinryu Mountain. In the precincts, Bishamonten is enshrined among the famous Asakusa Shichifukujin,and it is famous for the radish festival, where radish offering to joy heaven is served to worshipers. The stone monument and the main hall entrance on the precincts have sculptures of radish, which fulfill the good relationship and express the merit of contributing to the marriage of the family for a long time.
