cho were destroyed by fire in 1841, and were built away from the center of Edo. Named after Saruwaka Kansaburo, the founder of Edo Kabuki, it is called Saruwakacho In Saruwaka-machi, there are many playhouses lined up and gradually improved, and around 1714, the Nakaza-za, Ichimura-za and Kawarasaki-za theaters lead the industry, developing as Edo's best entertainment district as Edo-sanza. During the Meiji era, the government ordered the relocation of a play hut, and the number of play huts to rest increased, leaving only a stone monument to remember those days.
